Within the walls of a building there are spaces that hold subtle information about the people who inhabit them and the uses they had. These are emblematic spaces that carry us to another time and surrounding context of the building –like we were in a virtual reality.
Capturing the particular atmosphere of the interiors and stressing the absence of human figures, we can recreate the symbolic elements through which men interact with space. The deserted spaces are vehicles to perceive accomplished experiences and actions, some of which survive over time… the volatility and transformation of these spaces shows what survives, beats and breathes like a being in constant evolution… their footprint as a prelude for death and resurrection –an architectural resurrection!
Every building has a different meaning and produces particular sensations which I try to transmit through my images.
In this work I combine images of the old prison of Carabanchel (Madrid) with the old hospital Llar Cabanelles (Mataró).
